Many HND graduates face challenges with NYSC mobilization due to part-time ND programs. In response, NBTE has decided to issue NYSC Exemption Certificates to affected graduates, officially recognizing their education while exempting them from NYSC service.
What is an Exemption Certificate?
The NYSC Exemption Certificate is given to those who, for various legal reasons, are ineligible for NYSC mobilization. This certificate can be used in place of an NYSC Certificate of Service in employment and official settings. It’s important to note that the exemption certificate fulfills many of the same functions as the service certificate and is recognized by employers.
How to Obtain It:
For HND graduates with part-time ND backgrounds, obtaining an exemption certificate will soon become part of the standard process. NBTE is working with institutions to ensure these graduates receive their certificates in a timely manner.
This policy will help affected graduates continue their careers and pursue opportunities despite the NYSC restriction.
