NBTE Introduces New Task Force: The NBTE has launched a task force to monitor polytechnic adherence to guidelines regarding part-time programs. This task force will evaluate institutions nationwide, ensuring they follow the 50% enrollment capacity and 150% duration limits established for part-time students.

Why This Matters:
The task force aims to curb misuse of part-time programs, which many institutions use to boost internally generated revenue at the cost of students’ future opportunities. With the task force in place, polytechnics not adhering to the set capacity and duration guidelines will face sanctions, thereby improving program quality and transparency.

For prospective part-time students, it’s crucial to be aware that, as per NYSC and NBTE policies, these programs do not qualify for NYSC mobilization. Institutions must communicate this to students before enrollment to avoid future issues.
