Fake professor caught impersonating. Jide Josiah Jisos, who falsely claimed to be a “professor,” was sentenced to six months in prison for impersonation during the 2019 UTME. The incident occurred at Brix Academy in Abuja. Jisos tried to enter as a representative of an NGO overseeing the exam. JAMB officials became suspicious and confronted him. Jisos revealed his attempt to impersonate an official to help his daughter take the test.
The fake professor during questioning, Jisos failed to provide proof of his alleged NGO affiliation. This aroused further suspicion among JAMB officials. Leading to a more thorough investigation that exposed his real intentions—to assist his daughter in taking the UTME. JAMB officials promptly handed him over to security personnel. And under further questioning, Jisos admitted his motive, confessing that he had posed as an official only to aid his daughter.
The court ruling emphasizes JAMB’s strong stance on maintaining the integrity of its examination processes. Although the JAMB spokesperson did not specify the exact date of the judgment. The outcome underscores the Board’s dedication to upholding ethical standards in educational assessments. JAMB has reinforced its commitment to strict monitoring and enforcement measures to ensure that candidates can undertake exams in a fair and honest environment.
