Nnamdi Azikiwe University Overjoyed as BOI Commissions 30-Room Hostel
As a way of creating impact and prioritizing convenience, the Bank of Industry has constructed a 30-room hostel for the College of Medical Sciences at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus.
The handing-over ceremony was attended by dignitaries. The Managing Director of the Bank of Industry (BOI) was duly represented by Omar Shekarau, the Executive Director, Large Enterprises. Also present were the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ugochukwu Anyaehie; Mr. Caleb Okeke-Eyobi; community representatives; Deans of Faculties; Heads of Departments, among others.
Speaking at the occasion, Olasupo Olusi, who was represented by the Executive Director of BOI, reminded all that the community is divine and has been blessed by God. He added that the community has produced notable individuals such as Zik of Africa, Chinua Achebe, late Senator Chuba Okadigbo, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, among others.
However, Hon. Olusi expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the unity existing among Nigerians irrespective of their different religions. He cited Ash Wednesday for Christians and the Ramadan fast for Muslims, which took place simultaneously.
As the 30-room hostel was inaugurated, Hon. Olasupo charged the students to be proud of their institution and always be ready to compete with other institutions without fear.
He appreciated the students and assured them of BOI’s support in all their academic endeavours.
The Vice-Chancellor of the school, Prof. Ugochukwu Anyaehie, poured out his heartfelt appreciation to the bank and reminded them of the University’s love and appreciation for their good work.
The inauguration of the 30-room hostel for the College of Medical Sciences and Technology by the Bank of Industry brought nothing but joy to the institution as well as the community.
