About the Scholarship
The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme was established to support talented Nigerian students and promote academic excellence across the country. The award is open to eligible undergraduates in federal and state universities.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 2026 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Nigerian citizen residing in Nigeria.
- Must be a first-year undergraduate in a state or federal university for the 2025/2026 academic session.
- Must have at least 200 in JAMB UTME.
- Must possess five O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English, obtained in one sitting.
- Must be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of application.
- Must have a valid Local Government Area identification letter.
- Must not be receiving any other scholarship, grant, or financial aid.
- Must not be a child, spouse, or ward of an NLNG staff member.
Scholarship Value
Successful candidates receive an annual award of ₦300,000, which can be renewed every year based on academic performance and other criteria set by NLNG.

Applicants must upload clear and valid copies of the following:
Recent passport photograph (white background; no glasses)
O’Level results (WAEC/NECO/SSCE)
JAMB UTME result
JAMB admission letter
Birth certificate
Local Government Identification letter
National Identification Number (NIN) slip
Selection Process
The selection process for the NLNG UGSS involves several stages:
Online Application: Applicants fill out the form on the NLNG scholarship portal and upload required documents.
Shortlisting: Only candidates who meet all the criteria are shortlisted.
Computer-Based Test: Shortlisted applicants sit for an online, proctored aptitude test.
Final Verification: Successful test candidates undergo document and identity verification before the final award.
NLNG also encourages Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) to apply.
