NBTE Reviews Entry Requirements for HND Programmes
Following complaints received on perceived mismatch on some National Diploma (ND) programmes as requirements for certain Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes, the Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris M. Bugaje has approved the review and production of a comprehensive entry requirement for all accredited programmes that are offered at HND level across the country.
This became necessary since some programmes at the ND level may not necessarily be exact at the HND level, hence, it is possible that a HND programme can have three different ND programmes to serve as feeders. For example holders of ND Foundary Engineering Technology, ND Metallurgy Engineering Technology and ND Mechanical Engineering Technology are all eligible for admission into HND Foundary Engineering Technology.
Similarly graduates of ND Water Resources Engineering Technology, ND Civil Engineering Technology and ND Agricultural & Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology are all qualified to study HND Water Resources Engineering Technology. These and many more similar cases are often perceived as mismatch which necessitated the production of a comprehensive entry requirements for all accredited HND programmes across NBTE regulated TVET institutions.
