Excellence Rewarded: Two COOUNEWS Correspondents Earn First-Class Honours in Mass Communication
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), through its student-driven COOUNEWS platform, has celebrated two of its outstanding correspondents, Egwuonwu Sharon Chiamaka and Young Favour Uzondu, both of whom graduated with First Class Honours in Mass communication Department.
COOUNEWS, the student-driven arm of the Public Relations Unit, has continued to uphold a strong tradition of nurturing young campus journalists since its establishment in 2022 by the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Harrison Madubueze. The unit has remained a vital platform for students who are passionate about telling the COOU story with clarity, professionalism, and excellence.
The Unit proudly celebrate two outstanding correspondents—Egwuonwu Sharon Chiamaka and Young Favour Uzondu. Both graduated with First Class Honours in the Department of Mass Communication. Throughout their time with COOUNEWS, they demonstrated remarkable commitment, creativity, and journalistic brilliance, distinguishing themselves as examples of what student journalism at COOU represents.
As they transition into their next chapters, the Unit honour their contributions to COOUNEWS and the Public Relations Unit. Their success reflects the strength of our student journalism model and inspires the next generation of campus correspondents. We celebrate them, wish them well, and remain proud to have been part of their remarkable journey.
